A guide to your next move.
A different kind of sequence
Keep these points in mind. The tableau has seven columns. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on mdhulian.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations.
Read the opening cards
Keep these points in mind. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Three cards remain in the stock.
Build in the same suit
A few details help explain this feature. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.
Order within a group may vary
Here are the details for this mode. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.
Only Kings fill empty space
Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King.
Uncover another choice
Here are the details for this mode. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up.
Use the stock once
A few details help explain this feature. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.
Complete a suit
Here are the details for this mode. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit.
Practice Scorpion decisions
Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card.
Your separate local record
A few details help explain this feature. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants.
